Amtrak Train Hits Car in Fresno Hurting One Person

October 28, 2011- A 19-year-old woman was injured after her car was hit by an Amtrak train, Friday night, in Fresno. The crash happened at about 10 PM.

The driver was traveling up Maroa Avenue, and tried to make a right onto Princeton Avenue, but made it too early. The red car got stuck on some gravel at the train tracks.

Two passengers tried to push the vehicle off the tracks, but weren’t able to move it.

The driver was still in the car when the train hit the rear end of the vehicle.

The woman suffered only minor injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
