Double Fatality Caused by Drunk Driver in Clovis

November 27, 2011- a double-fatal crash happened early Sunday morning in Clovis just minutes from Fresno. The accident happened at about 2 AM.

Larry Garcia, of Clovis, was driving under the influence in his black Toyota pickup truck, when he slammed into a white Acura at the intersection of Minnewawa Avenue and Barstow Avenue, after he ran the red light.

The occupants of the Acura were Jessica Matthes, of Sacramento, and Keith Smith of Clovis.

Smith, the driver of the Acura, was killed instantly in the collision. Matthes was seriously injured and later died at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

Garcia received minor injuries. He was arrest and booked for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
