Pickup Truck Collision on Noriega Road in Bakersfield, Caused by Drunk Driver

August 20, 2014- A repeat intoxicated driver was involved in a vehicle collision in Kern County, on Wednesday.  The pickup truck accident took place in Bakersfield, at approximately 9 AM.

Robert Vickery, 52 years old, was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 on Old Farm Road.  He attempted to make a westbound turn onto Noriega Road and lost control.  The pickup ran onto the south sidewalk, smashed into a power pole, traveled into the westbound lanes of Noriega Rd., and on into a field where he hit a chain link fence.

The crash caused a power outage in the area and closed the intersection.

Vickery was not hurt in the accident.  The police arrested him for DUI, and said he would be charged with a felony.  This was Vickery's fourth DUI arrest.
