Fuel Truck and Car Collide on Taft Highway in Bakersfield

October 1, 2014- A fuel tanker truck and vehicle collision took place in Kern County, on Wednesday.  The head-on crash, happened on Taft Highway in Bakersfield, at about 11 PM.

A small sedan was traveling east on Highway 119, between Stine and Ashe Roads, when for an unknown reason the car veered into the westbound lanes of the freeway.  The vehicle smashed head-on into a semi truck carrying diesel fuel.  The fuel from the tanker spilled all over the highway.

The driver of the auto suffered moderate injuries, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The big rig's driver did not sustain any major injuries.
