Big Rig Accident North of Visalia Ends In Fatality for Porterville Woman

November 17, 2014- A semi truck accident took the life of a Porterville woman, in Tulare County.  The big rig collision occurred outside of Visalia, at approximately 7:10 PM.

Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was driving a Kenworth tractor-trailer south on Road 80 at about 55 miles per hour.  The semi was reported to have driven through a red light, at the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 368.

The big rig collided into a 2003 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Olivia Thomason/Thompson, of Porterville.  The Toyota was traveling eastbound on Avenue 368 and had the right of way.

After the semi truck hit the 4Runner, the SUV careened across the roadway and smashed into a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer.

Thomason died at the scene of the crash.  Hernandez suffered moderate injuries, and the driver of the Chevy; William Celaya of Dinuba, was not injured.

Hernandez could face charges of vehicular manslaughter for the accident.
