Pedestrian Accident Kills Girl in Porterville on Tyler Avenue

November 9, 2014- A pedestrian accident in Tulare County, ended in fatality, on Sunday evening.  The hit-and-run auto collision occurred in Porterville, at approximately 6 PM.

18 year old Adolfo Balbuena was reported to have been driving while intoxicated in the area of Tyler Avenue and Conner Street.  He was driving erratically and the 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo he was driving, smashed through a fence and hit an ice cream truck that was parked at the side of the road.

The Chevrolet hit and pinned three kids to the truck, before backing up and driving away.  One of the children was Angeles Moreno.  She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The other two minors, and one of the ice cream truck vendors, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as well.

Authorities later found Balbuena in a backyard, after his brother was reported to have picked him up and dropped him off at the place of residence.

He has been arrested and officials are waiting on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, as to whether Balbuena will face charges.  He is an illegal immigrant and could be deported back to Mexico.
