Semi Truck Crash in Tulare County on Road 80 and Avenue 368

On Monday, November 17, 2014, a big rig collision ended in fatality, north of Visalia.  The Tulare County tractor-trailer accident occurred at about 7:10 PM.

Olivia Thomason of Porterville, was driving a 2003 Toyota 4Runner east on Avenue 368.  The Toyota came to the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80 and had a green light at the posted traffic light.

As the SUV drove into the intersection a Kenworth semi truck, that was headed south on Road 80, ran the red light.  The driver of the big rig, Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was said to have been traveling at about 55 mph when he collided the Toyota.

The 4Runner was pushed by the impact of the crash, across the road and into a 2003 Chevy Blazer, driven by William Celaya of Dinuba.

Thomason was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  Hernandez sustained moderate injuries, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  Celaya was not hurt.
