A 26 year old man, from San Simeon, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu, when he ran a stop sign at Kansas Avenue. He was broadsided by a Honda Civic, driven by Jose Luis S. Martinez, of Madera.
The Chevy driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. He later died from his injuries. A passenger in the Malibu, Armando Valencia, 29, also of San Simeon, sustained minor injuries.
Martinez received moderate injuries, while his passengers; Saul Santos, and Renee Cruz, suffered major injuries. They were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
