Kern County Big Rig Crane Collision in Buttonwillow, at Highway 58

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Tuesday, February 17, 2015, a crane truck and pickup collided in Kern County.  The vehicle collision ended in two fatalities, on Highway 58, in Buttonwillow, at 7:15 AM.

A pickup truck, driven by Carrie Rae Gilliard and with passenger Joshua Shane Shepherd, was traveling northbound on Palomas Road.  The pickup did not stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection of Highway 58 and Palomas.

The truck hit a freight-liner crane, driven by a 21 year old Bakersfield man.  Upon impact the two vehicle smashed into a power pole and concrete walls, and then came to rest in the front yard of a home.

The victims in the pickup truck were partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The crane truck driver was not harmed in the incident.
