Victim in Fiery Truck Crash on Caldwell Avenue, in Visalia, is Identified

Tulare County Automobile Collision Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; The victim in the fiery truck crash that happened on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, has been identified as Christopher Paul Nelson.  The vehicle accident occurred in Visalia, California, at about 2:10 PM.

Christopher Paul Nelson, of Exeter, was driving a Proteus Inc. box truck, westbound on Caldwell Avenue, west of Akers Road.  The road on Caldwell, past Akers becomes one lane from two lanes, in front of Turnberry Place.

There are conflicting reports on what exactly took place.  One is that as the transport truck drove down the street, Nelson failed to merge, for an unexplained reason.  The other is that the box van was already merged into the one lane, when it veered off to the right side of the roadway.

The 2001 Chevy box van drove along the curb and collided head-on with a parked Southern California Edison dump truck.

Both vehicles then caught fire and were quickly engulfed completely in flames.  Nelson was unable to get out of the Proteus truck, and died at the scene of the incident.

Officers reported that it is undetermined at this time whether the driver was dead upon collision, or from the fire.  The accident is under investigation.

Mr. Rozier is located right here in Visalia and would like to speak to the family of the accident victim.  The scene of the collision should be independently investigated as soon as possible.  Please give him a call at 559-713-0159 or www.nelsonrozier.com.
