June 29, 2015- A pickup truck crash left people without power in Tulare County.  The vehicle accident took place northwest of Ivanhoe, on Road 132, at around 5:17 PM.

A white pickup truck was driving on Road 132, south of Avenue 352, when for an unknown reason the driver lost control.  The vehicle left the roadway and smashed into a wooden power pole.

The impact of the truck caused the pole and live electrical wires to fall to the ground.  The electricity in the downed wires started a grass fire in the area.  Firefighters could not put out the fire until the power was shut off by a Southern California Edison work crew.

Power was reported to have been lost for 629 homes and businesses in the area.

The driver in the incident sustained minor injuries.
