It is reported that the pickup truck did not stop at the posted sign, at the intersection of Ave. 237 and Spruce, before making a right turn.  The truck pulled out right into the path of the tractor-trailer, and the two vehicles collided.

The impact of the collision sent the big rig careening through a wooden power pole, and then rolled onto its side.  The blue pickup also overturned.

The Lindsay man suffered moderate to major injuries and was taken to Exeter by ambulance.  He was then airlifted to Valley Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The semi truck driver, from Fresno, did not require medical attention at the scene.
