The truck attempted to make a right turn and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Spruce and Avenue 237.  The pickup drove right into the path of the oncoming Freightliner, and the two trucks crashed into each other.

The semi, upon impact, smashed through a power pole and overturned onto its side.  The pickup also rolled over after the collision.

The Lindsay man sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Valley Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The big rig driver, who was from Fresno, refused medical attention at the scene.
